Lectures

Goal

Achieving competencies and academic skills as well as methods for their acquisition. Development of creative abilities and mastery of practical skills specific to performing the profession. The goals are concrete and achievable and fully in line with the established basic tasks and goals of the study program.

Outcome

The student acquires subject-specific abilities that are the function of quality performance of professional activities: analysis, synthesis and prediction of solutions and consequences, thorough knowledge and understanding of the profession, connecting the basic knowledge from different fields and their application to solving specific problems, monitoring and applying novelties in profession, development of skills and dexterity in the use of knowledge.

Theoretical teaching

Basic terms; corrosion and corrosion protection; material behavior at elevated and low temperatures; flange joints; pipeline fittings and valves; compensation of pipeline thermal expansions; analysis of thermal stresses in pipelines; pipeline layout; pipeline supports.

Practical teaching

Auditory exercises: demonstration exercises (description and examples of the construction of pipeline elements, standardization and typification in the area of pipelines, production of pipes, construction of pipeline supports, examples of application of pipeline fittings and valves); design calculation tasks (analysis and calculation of forces of flange joints, calculation of thermal expansions and thermal stresses of pipelines).
