Lectures

Goal

The goal of the course is to create a basis for writing a master's thesis through solving practical problems and collecting information and data from a real system in the domain of Industry 4.0.

Outcome

After successfully completing the internship, the student: Gains additional practical experience in applying the knowledge acquired in the master's study courses in a real industrial/business environment; Deepens the knowledge acquired in various courses and synthesizes them in solving practical problems; Becomes able to solve problems independently or in a team in a real business environment; Establishes personal contacts and acquaintances that will be useful during studies or in establishing a future employment relationship.

Theoretical teaching

Theoretical knowledge acquired during studies is used.

Practical teaching

The student completes his internship in a company where he is engaged in solving real, practical problems in the following areas: distributed computing, data analysis, interactive computing, organization and management of processes and systems, design and/or implementation of equipment, systems and processes, system maintenance in the context of Industry 4.0. The student is assigned a mentor at the employer during the internship. The detailed internship plan is agreed upon by the master's thesis mentor and the employer's mentor in accordance with the selected master's thesis topic and the business orientation and activity of the company. In principle, except in organizations with which the faculty cooperates, with the consent of the faculty and agreement faculty and organization, the student may also do internships in other production organizations, project and consulting organizations, organizations engaged in the maintenance of machinery, public and municipal enterprises, etc., which perform work in the area of ​​the master's program. During the internship, students must keep a diary in which they will enter a description of the work they perform, conclusions and observations. The internship is carried out either during or after the fourth semester. After completing the internship, they must write a report that they will defend before the master's thesis mentor. The report is submitted in the form of a seminar paper.
