Goal

Introduction to the trends of research in the field of heat transfer operations and equipment Mathematical modeling of the intensity of heat and mass transfer in process equipment

Outcome

The application of the basic models of phase fluidodynamic state for estimation of the heat and mass transfer efficiency

Theoretical teaching

Introduction and classification of heat and mass transfer operations and apparatus. Procedures for determining the equilibrium state in multiphase multicomponent systems, ideal and non-ideal systems. Heat transfer operations without phase change: heating, cooling. Heat transfer with phase change: evaporation, condensation, thawing, freezing. Heat and mass transfer operations followed by chemical reactions. Possibilities of optimization of heat and mass transfer operations processes. Review of construction solutions of thermal appliances. Specific cases of heat and mass transfer in different heat apparatuses. Testing of heat transfer performance and pressure drop.
