Lectures

Goal

The objective of the course is that students acquire theoretical and practical knowledge in the field of maintenance of technical systems (concept, technology...). Through teaching activities, students acquire creative and specific practical skills that qualify them to work in the field of maintenance of equipment, machines and systems in process industry.

Outcome

By successful completion of the study program student acquires the following skills: analysis, synthesis and prediction of solutions and consequences in the field of maintenance in process industry; development of critical thinking and self-critical approach; application of knowledge in practice; professional ethics; correlation of knowledge from different fields and their applications; involvement in the activities related to maintenance in the company.

Theoretical teaching

Introduction. Technical system. Maintenance of technical systems. Maintenance engineering. Basic concepts of probability and statistics. Life cycle of technical system. Maintenance process. Maintenance systems. Concept of maintenance. Modelling and optimization of maintenance system. Characteristics of maintenance system. Analysis and evaluation of maintenance system. Designing systems in terms of maintenance. Inventory management. Maintenance Management.

Practical teaching

Systematic approach to maintenance. Basic concepts of probability and statistics - examples. Maintenance technology. Maintenance procedures. Logistics. Maintenance examples of process equipment in operation (pressure vessels, heat exchangers, filters...). Examples of pipeline construction and maintenance. Writing a seminar paper.
