• Introducing of: nature of computer control systems related to types of signal transfer; real systems functionality as well as basic tuning of components of computer control systems; • Acquiring knowledge about the use of digital computers in automatic control, control algorithms and their programming.
• Proper understanding of the nature of digital computers and processes inside them, as well as gaining fundamental knowledge about computer control systems. • Understanding and using methods for analytical and/or experimental testing of basic dynamic and static characteristics of computer control system components. • Introduction and use of various methods for control systems analysis and synthesis. • Understanding and using computer for simulation and evaluation control systems, as well as practical realization of various control algorithms.
Introduction to control systems with examples from practice. Continuous time control systems, mathematical models and properties/ Digital computers in automatic control. Samplers, quantization and coding. Binary logic, logic function, combinational logic circuits, A/D and D/А converters.Discrete systems, models and properties. Programmable logic controller (PLC). PLC programming basics: ladder diagrams, function blocks, basic functions, timers, counters. Implementation of digital computer in automatic control circuit. Examples of control algorithms.
PA: Practical work includes exercises that follow the content of course. PL: Practice and experiments: examples of computer control system realization; PLC controllers programming; use of the computers for simulation and evaluation computer control systems as well as their practical realization using on various control plants using programming software Matlab/Simulink.
