Course type: scientific and vocational
Course coordinator: Petrović S. Ana
Lecturers: Petrović S. Ana
Contact: Petrović S. Ana
Level of studies: Ph.D. (Doctoral) studies – Mechanical Engineering
ECTS: 5
Final exam type: oral
The main goal of the course is to train students to perform numerical and experimental structural diagnostics. The first step towards that goal for students is to master modern experimental methods for deformation measurement. Modern extensiometric and optical methods with the use of modern electronics and optics are emphasized. The second step is to use software based on the finite element method for stress calculation and analysis.
The student has mastered the techniques of numerical and experimental diagnostics of structures. Student is qualified to apply knowledge to the assessment of load capacity and stability of real constructions. Student is qualified for independent scientific and research work related to problems of structural strength.
Basic concepts of experimental methods in structural testing. A brief overview of existing measurement methods. Extensiometric measurement method. Optical measurement methods. Finite element method.
Application of experimental methods in displacement and deformation measurements in laboratory conditions. on construction models. Analysis of a real complex structure stress state.
Without listening requirements and restrictions.
Handouts from Faculty (Department of Strength of Constructions) website. Computers having Finite Element Method based software installed. System for non-contact displacement and deformation measurement based on Digital Image Correlation.
