Acquisition of vocational lexis related to the field of information technologies and mechanical engineering (artificial intelligence, Internet of Things, Industry 4.0, robotics, autonomous vehicles). Developing oral and writing skills in engineering English. Training students to use vocational literature in English in the field of engineering and information technologies.
Upon the completion of this course, students will be able to: - use mechanical engineering vocabulary, - prepare and deliver a presentation in English related to the field of information technologies and mechanical engineering.
Terminology of the fields of information technologies, artificial intelligence, robotics, autonomous vehicles. Interpreting charts. Descriptive grammar of English: verbs, nouns, relative clauses, expressing cause and effect. Making PowerPoint presentations in English related to the field of information technologies and mechanical engineering.
Lexical and grammatical exercises (multiple-choice questions, gap-fill activities, answering questions, translation). Individual and group work. Oral presentations.
