The aim of the course is to acquire the skills necessary for the practical application of knowledge acquired in master's degree courses in a real industrial/business environment, as well as to familiarize students with the environment in which they will develop their business career, the basic functions of a business system in the domain of Industry 4.0, and the role and tasks of engineers in such a business system.
After successfully completing the internship, the student: Has practical experience in applying knowledge acquired in master's study courses in a real industrial/business environment; Connects knowledge acquired in different courses and integrates it in solving practical problems; Recognizes ways of organizing and functioning of environments in which they will apply the acquired knowledge in their future professional career; Recognizes and critically examines organizational models and business information flows in a real business system; Recognizes basic processes in design, production, maintenance, inventory management, quality assurance and occupational health and safety, in the context of its future professional competencies and critically analyzes them; Establishes personal contacts and acquaintances that will be useful during studies or in establishing a future employment relationship.
Theoretical knowledge acquired during studies is used.
The student completes the internship in a company where he/she is engaged in solving real-world problems in the following areas: distributed computing, data analysis, interactive computing, organization and management of processes and systems, design and/or implementation of equipment, systems and processes, system maintenance in the context of Industry 4.0. During the internship, the student is assigned a mentor at the employer. A detailed internship plan is agreed upon by the subject teacher and the mentor-employer in accordance with the elective courses that the student attends during his studies and the business orientation and activity of the company. The internship is carried out either during or after the third semester. After the internship, the student creates a report that he/she will defend before the subject teacher.
