Familiarize students with the basic concepts of economic analysis, through the study of the capital and operating costs, shortcut methods of economic optimization and economic analysis of investment.
Students will be able to: * calculate the investment costs * calculate the operating costs * determine the economic parameters of investment profitability * use the shortcut procedures for determining of the optimal pipeline diameter and optimal insulation thickness
Types of design documentation and typical economic analysis The basic functions of the equipment in process facilities Capital costs Operating costs Economic analysis of investment Shortcut economic evaluations: optimal diameter of pipeline, optimal thickness of insulation
Practical examples of calculation of: * capital costs * operating costs * economic parameters for investment analysis * the optimal diameter of pipeline and the optimal insulation thickness using shortcut methods.
