Analysis of heat transfer operations and apparatus and their role in modern industry. Getting to know the most commonly used types of heat transfer apparatuses - their construction and calculation procedures.
Mastering the calculation procedures required for the analysis of heat transfer operations - creating a heat balance, determining the operating line and driving force. Mastering the calculation procedures required for sizing the most commonly used heat exchangers.
Classification of heat transfer operations and apparatus. General methodology for the calculation of stationary heat transfer operations and apparatus. Operational and equilibrium line, driving force of heat transfer process, number of transfer units. Stationary recuperative heat exchangers: double pipe, shell-and-tube, plate, finned tube. General methodology for calculating non-stationary heat transfer operations. Types of batch heat exchangers. Contact heat exchangers for heat transfer operations in the vapor-liquid (barometric condensers) and gas-liquid (water cooling tower) system.
Examples from the field of heat transfer operations. Creation of the heat balance and determination of the operating line, the driving force of the heat exchange process, and the number of transfer units. Dimensioning examples of the most commonly used heat exchangers: double pipe, shell-and-tube, plate, finned tube, batch exchangers, barometric condensers and water-cooling tower.
